Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced that Northamptonshire will move into Tier 4 from Midnight tonight.

Golf Courses in Tier 4 are allowed to remain open but to ensure restrictions are followed and members are kept safe bookings should be two balls only.

He stated tougher restrictions were "necessary" to help control the spread of the virus, particularly the new variant.
In the week to 25 December, government figures show that infection rates per 100,000 people rose in six of Northamptonshire's seven districts (compared with the week to 18 December):

**How does this affect Northampton Golf Club?**

All competitions cancelled,( Apologies to the incoming Lady Captains Drive In) social golf only in Two Balls.

The course will be split into two nine holes of golf from either the front 9 or back 9. This will give as many members as possible the opportunity to play golf safely.

From Wednesday 6th January 2021- the booking system will only accept two ball bookings from either the front 9 or back 9.

To deal with the issue of tee times that have been booked before this afternoon's announcement which are in three or fourballs (up to and including 5th January 2021), the following must apply to comply with the Tier 4 restrictions and to keep everyone safe,.

Members booked on the Front 9 or Back 9 between 8.00am and 9.12am must reduce in number to a two ball.

Members Booked on the Front 9 from 9.20 onwards - two players may tee off the front 9 and the other two players must tee off the back 9. For example a fourball booked in for 9.20am tomorrow :-Two players will tee off from the first tee at 9.20am the other two players will tee off from the tenth tee at 9.20am

Please think of other members when booking and it would be very much appreciated if those who are able to play during the week do not book a tee time at the weekend to give more weekend golfers an opportunity to play.

To avoid group gatherings, please try to arrive at the club no more than 20 minutes before your tee time. Play your 9 holes of golf and then leave the club straight away.

The entrance gate will open at 7.15 am each morning with the first tee time being at 8.00 am and will close at 5.00 pm

The Clubhouse, Proshop and Halfway House will be closed from immediate effect.

The Office will be available for enquiries, tee booking transactions from bar cards etc. Please call 01604 - 845155 or email

Course Status tomorrow: Front 9 All holes open Carry Only: Back 9 Carry if you can.
